Das Andreas Reinsch Projekt freut sich, neue Arbeiten des aufstrebenden chinesisch-deutschen Künstlers Hoa Trinh zu präsentieren. Trinhs erste Einzelausstellung trägt den Titel „Zeittafel“ und wird bis zum 10. März zu sehen sein.

Objektiv ist die Zeit genau messbar und doch erleben wir die Zeit alle unterschiedlich. Die Zeit ist nicht einzufangen. Sie ist fortlaufend und relativ. In der Kunst wurde die Zeit oft in Verbindung mit Vergänglichen abgebildet. Im 17. Jahrhundert waren die sogenannten Vanitas-Stillleben mit dem Totenschädel populär. Die zerfließenden Uhren aus Dalis Ölbild „Die Beständigkeit der Erinnerung“ sind schon unzählige Male kopiert worden.
Die Zeit ist auf den Bildern von Hoa Trinh hingegen nicht offensichtlich. Sie ist vielmehr unsichtbar. Konstruierte Formen treffen auf Farbebenen und Flächen, die mit dem geplanten Zufallsprinzip entstanden sind. Die Zeit wird hier nicht linear dargestellt, sondern ist räumlich, dehnbar und im wörtlichen Sinne vielschichtig.
Die Zeit ist in vielen seiner Arbeiten ein immer wiederkehrendes Thema. Sie ist omnipräsent und kann doch so privat sein.

Hoa Trinh wurde 1975 in Saigon geboren. Als dreijähriger verließ er mit seiner Familie Vietnam und kam nach Deutschland.
Mit der chinesischen und vietnamesischen Kultur verbunden, wuchs er in Ostfriesland auf. Mit diesem Hintergrund empfand er schon als Kind, wie unterschiedlich Wahrnehmungen und Kommunikationen sein können. Das führte dazu, dass er Grafik Design an der Hochschule für Künste in Bremen studierte.
Trinh wohnt und arbeitet in Berlin.

Das Andreas Reinsch Project ist ein Galerieraum und Haarsalon. Es ist das Projekt des Kunstliebhabers, Sammlers und Friseurs Andreas Reinsch und zeigt nationale und internationale Künstler unter der Kuration von Suzy Royal.
Die Kuratorin:
Suzy Royal ist unabhängige Kuratorin und Art-Consultant in Berlin. Sie hält ein MA des Courtauld Institute London und ein Doktorat der University of Southern California, Los Angeles, beide in Kunstgeschichte. Ihre weite Erfahrung in der Kunstwelt und des Kunstbetriebs sammelte sie durch Arbeit für das Getty Museum, das Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Auktionshäuser, Universitäten, Galerien und, zuletzt, für die non-profit Stiftung Enter Art Foundation, für die sie erfolgreiche Ausstellungen mit über 300 Künstlern aus der ganzen Welt in Europa und Deutschland kuratierte.

The Andreas Reinsch Project is pleased to present recent paintings by the emerging Chinese-German artist Hoa Trinh. Trinh’s first solo show is entitled ‘Zeittafel’ (Chronology) and will be on view until the 10th of March.
Raumzeit, 2019, 100 x 100 cm
Objectively, time can be measured precisely and yet we all experience time differently. Time is not something which can be caught or held onto. It is continuous and relative. Throughout art history, time has often been depicted in connection with the ephemeral. In the 17th century, the so-called vanitas still-lifes with skulls or other symbols of the fleeting quality of life were popular. The melting clocks from Dali’s oil painting „The Persistence of Memory“ have been copied countless times.
Time is not immediately obvious in Hoa Trinh’s paintings. It is in fact, invisible. Constructed shapes meet layers of colors and surfaces that were created with a planned random principle. Time is not represented linearly here, but is spatial; elastic and literally multi-layered.
Time is a recurring theme in many of Hoa Trinh’s works. It is omnipresent and yet at the same time, has a completely private aspect.

Hoa Trinh was born in 1975 in Saigon, Vietnam. At the age of three he left Vietnam with his family and came to Germany.
He grew up in East Friesland, Germany, with strong ties to his Chinese and Vietnamese culture. Within this environment, he grew up observing how different perceptions and communication among people can be. This led him to study graphic design at the University of the Arts in Bremen. Trinh now lives and works in Berlin.

About the Curator:
Suzy Royal is an independent curator and art consultant based in Berlin. She holds an MA from the Courtauld Institute in London and a Phd from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, both in art history.
With her international experience in museums such as the Getty Museum and Los Angeles County Museum of Art, auction houses, academia, galleries, as well as a non-profit art foundation, she has a deep understanding of the art world and the industry behind it.
Most recently, in collaboration with the Berlin-based Enter Art Foundation, she curated numerous successful exhibitions, in Germany and Europe, scouting and exhibiting over 300 emerging and mid-career artists from all over the world.
